Bonnie Stowkowy, P.Eng., recently presented the APEGGA Award for Earth Sciences (Elementary) to Leah Johnston and Elizabeth Essex. The Olympic Heights School students were winners in the Calgary Youth Science Fair for their entry on "Which Type of Sand or Soil Allows Water to Flow". The award is one of several engineering and earth science-related awards that APEGGA sponsors in connection with the science fair.
