A passion for work and a desire to make a difference - these are the things that drive people to succeed in their chosen professions. APEGGA salutes that spirit with the 2003 Annual Conference, appropriately themed Igniting the Passion: Shaping the World.

You, the professionals of APEGGA, are the essential elements in the process of translating scientific discovery into practical and profitable applications. Celebrating the impact the three professions have on society and the economy, the conference is a forum for engineers, geologists and geophysicists to establish, maintain and improve contacts and cooperation across Alberta.

The April 24-26 conference is a prime opportunity to network, share insights and learn more about the professions and the Association. Calgary's TELUS Convention Centre and Fairmont Palliser Hotel will play host to the conference, which will feature two days of professional development seminars, the Summit Awards® Gala, the Annual General Meeting and Luncheon, and a fun-filled guest program.

Keeping up with technology and innovation is a challenge for every professional. The professional development program, running Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, offers members the latest information on technical and practical developments in the professions.

APEGGA is now offering a choice of one-day and two-day professional development workshops and several half-day sessions. The full-day workshops provide not only an in-depth examination of their topics, but also the opportunity to reflect on the subject matter. Alternatively, half-day sessions give greater variety and scope.

The Summit Awards® Gala on Friday, April 25, is the APEGGA social event of the year, bringing together leaders in the professions, business, government and education to celebrate and recognize excellence in the practices of engineering, geology and geophysics.

A special addition to the pre-gala reception is the second annual APEGGA Art Show. Admire the creative talents of members and their families - paintings, sculptures and photographic works make up this spectacular display.

The Annual General Meeting, on Saturday, April 26, offers members a chance to become involved in the business of the Association, vote on matters brought before the meeting, hear issues of importance to APEGGA and the professions, and present motions for Council consideration. The AGM Luncheon follows, featuring a compelling guest speaker.

Join us in Calgary to ignite your passion and help shape the world.
