D. CRAIG MACFARLANE, P.ENG.

Craig MacFarlane is employed by the City of Calgary within the ROADS business unit and holds the position of Chief Structures Engineer. He heads the Structures and Bridges section, a group that is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation of the City’s existing inventory of traffic, pedestrian and LRT bridges.

Craig spent much of his career in private consulting on bridge projects including highway, heavy rail, light rail, pedestrian, forestry and pipeline bridges for both private and public sector clients. He has a strong background with inspection, assessment/structural evaluation, maintenance and rehabilitation of existing bridges and the project management, planning, preliminary/final design and contract administration/construction supervision of new bridge projects.

Craig holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is a member of APEGGA and CSCE.
